Katelyn's Starting Kindergarten

I can't believe Katelyn is already five and old enough for kindergarten. As a mom, it's so hard to let them go "out into the world" and learn things from other teachers and other people now. Katelyn has been really ready for a while though I think. She's been very excited about school starting. This was her first day. She has to wear a uniform but she sure is cute I have to admit!

I know Brayden is going to miss his sister... He was still in his pajamas, but wanted to take a picture with his "backpack" too.

When we got there and we were waiting for her teacher to come and get her class she said, "It's ok mom, I will be fine. I can wait by myself." So that was that. I gave her a hug and kiss and watched her go to class. I got a little lump in my throat, but went home and played with Brayden and Nathan all day. When Katelyn got home she gave me a tight squeeze and said, "I want to go every day!" So far so good. She is really enjoying it!

Summer's Ending

I really don't want the summer to end. It's been so hot it just doesn't seem like it's time for school to start. I thought it was kind of funny the other evening we were cleaning off the back porch and Brayden suggested we put water in the sand box after scrubbing it clean. Needless to say, it provided hours of fun for the kids. They were splashing and giggling for quite a while and I thought I'd capture the moment.

I am an avid library goer. I love to take my kids weekly to get books and we went to a "back to school" activity that they hosted. The kids had a great time. There was a band, face painting, balloons, crafts, games, food, and free give-aways. They had a great time.

The boys...

Katelyn always finding girls to play with!

So I asked Katelyn what she wanted to do the day before school started and she said she wanted to go to the zoo. It was a hot day, but we had fun!

7th Anniversary

So I can't believe we have been married for seven years! Time seems to go by so fast! We had a nice dinner and evening together the day after we got back from Newport. It was nice to have some quiet time just the two of us. We had a great time. I couldn't ask for a better person to spend my life with. Sean is such a wonderful husband and father. I love being with him. He makes me laugh, he is my best friend, and he brings me so much love and joy. Here we are at PF Changs.

Newport Beach

So Sean's parents treated us to a fun week at Newport Beach. It was a beautiful week and we had a great time with Sean's family. Katelyn and Brayden bonded with their cousins and we had a great time as a family. Here we are all together with Sean's parents and siblings.

These were taken at the Newport Temple on Sunday after church.

We celebrated Sean's mom's birthday while we were there. This was taken while we were at the restaurant.

Of course the beach was our favorite. The kids had a great time building things in the sand and Nathan was very interested in it too!

We took one day to go to Disney land and we had so much fun! It was such a great addition to the week.

They were so tired by the end, but as you can see they had a great time!

These were taken on our last evening there. The sunset was really beautiful that night. These were some of our favorite pictures of the kids...

Fourth of July

So I went to my parents for the 4th of July weekend. Seems I just can't stay away this summer! I surprised my siblings and we had a great weekend visiting everyone. Here we are picking blackberries in my parents garden.

We spent the 4th of July with my sister's family. There was a carnival, rides, treats, and a parade. The kids had a great time!
