Trip to Hawaii

We took a trip to Hawaii this summer.  Just Sean and I...  We had a great time getting to see the Island and spending time with each other.  Wish we were still there!!

"Our Ride"  This made our trip amazing!  I wouldn't have wanted to see the Island any other way!

We stayed at the Ko Olina Resort, but we explored most of the week and only spent our last day here.  It was very beautiful what we saw when we were there though.

"First Morning Jog"

We jogged around the first morning.  It was beautiful!

We decided to see Waikiki for the sake of seeing it.  It was a little rundown, but we found some fun shopping places on the Beach Walk.  We also enjoyed eating at a Yard House.  Amazing!

"Hunama Bay"

We snorkeled here our first evening.  It was really fun!  I just about touched a sea turtle and we saw a lot of colorful coral and fish.  It was a steep climb down and back up.  If you look closely, you can see in our picture we have prints on our foreheads still from the snorkel gear.   

"Sandy Beach"

This was probably my favorite experience.  We drove around this end of the Island and found this Beach.  It is too dangerous this time of year, but it was really fun to watch all of the locals surf.  They were amazing and it was a beautiful night!

"The Drive to Hawaii Temple"

This drive through the Mountains was amazing!  I got to drive some of it.  So pretty!

"Polynesian Cultural Center"

This was amazing!  We spent from noon until 10 pm touring through the day, attending the Lu Ou, and the evening show called "Breath of Life."  It was definitely worth it!  So fun!

"Dole Plantation"

The pineapple plantation was really prettier than I thought it would be.  Very fascinating too.  We took the little train ride to lear about how it all works.

"Turtle Beach"

Obviously called because of the 24 turtles that reside there.  They are watched over and protected.  You are only allowed to get within 4 feet of them.  They are pretty big and really cool!

"Waiamea Falls"

This was a Botanical Garden and I felt like I was in heaven here.  It was breathtakingly beautiful.  Absolutely amazing!  We spent a couple hours here walking around.  You can hike to the falls and swim.  It was so refreshing and so amazingly beautiful!

"Sunset Beach"

After a good long day, we sat and ate dinner while we watched the sun set.  Very romantic!

"Surfing North Shore"

This was very worth it!  We had a great teacher.  The waves were mild, but easy enough to ride.  Our teacher was incredible though.  She gave me opportunities to get up every time!

"Famous Mossimotos"

This was our reward for surfing all day!  These are yummy snow cones with ice cream in the middle.

The locals jump off the top about 40 feet high.  Crazy!  We didn't get in.

Last Day... We got up early to Hike to Manoa Falls.  So worth it!!!
